 Melissa Coe has been rehabbing birds, squirrels, opossums and other animals since 2004. She received training through Wildlife Rehabilitators of NC, and is licensed federally and in North Carolina. She has organized Piedmont Wildlife Rehab and worked very hard to successfully obtain non-profit status (classification 501(c)(3) ) so that deductions are tax-deductible.     
      She is passionate about caring for these creatures that are often overlooked and ignored by many. She has rehabbed a variety of animals, regularly gets birds such as cardinals, sparrows, finches, robins, bluebirds, woodpeckers, chimney swifts among others. Each species offers its own set of challenges!
     Mammals that have spent time with her include squirrels, bunnies, opossums, chipmunks, groundhogs, flying squirrels, even a baby mouse!
