 GALLERY I:    REHABILITATING BABY BIRDS
These are photos of baby birds that are being rehabilitated. Although some babies are obvious, most are not when they are very young!    Click on the pictures for a larger version.
If you find baby birds that have been abandoned, you should try to contact wildlife rehabilitators in your area and get the animal to them. It is not legal to try to care for them yourself as it requires training and special equipment. There are substantial fines involved, but the real risk is to the animal which will die unless it receives proper care.  Baby Mourning Doves are especially tricky to care for, as they are crop feeders, feeding on partially digested food from their parent's crop, or gullet.
